Being involved in the automotive industry since I enetered the workforce and then trucks and car spares since arriving in Hedland, it was only natural that I would gravitate towards wanting to photograph everyone's pride and joy.
For some its a weekend cruiser, for others their daily and for others yet again they put food on the table and are a home away from home.
These images are an homage to the effort that people make to maintain their cherished mechanical art pieces.

I wasn't hanging around waiting for a truck to turn up at 5am, but one did happen to be there while I waited for the sun to ad it's golden highlights to the ships in the harbour

While I was shooting for a car show in Perth, I was approahed by the wife of the owner of this car. Kyliegh asked if I wouldn't mind taking a photo of the bonnet of her husbands car.
"just the bonnet?!"
"yes please"
